Bruce Rock Community Bank Branch

Bruce Rock Community Bank branch services the community of Bruce Rock.

A lot of work‚ including public consultation‚ went in to determining whether a Bendigo Bank Community Bank branch was feasible in Bruce Rock.
It all started on 25 May 2005 when Bendigo Bank officers briefed a group of Bruce Rock residents about the proposal to establish a branch.
From this meeting‚ a steering committee made up of residents was formed.
They organised a preliminary public meeting to discuss and gauge interest in the Community Bank® concept and the steps required to establish a branch at Bruce Rock.
As a result of that meeting‚ the committee engaged independent consultant‚ RSM Bird Cameron‚ to conduct the feasibility study.
The results of the feasibility study were presented to the committee at a meeting on 8 January 2007.
Members voted unanimously at a meeting on 13 June 2007 to proceed with the branch.
The results of this work became obvious when the Bruce Rock Community Bank® Branch was officially opened on Monday the 17 March 2008.
The branch was opened by:
Colin Smith, Chairman, Bruce Rock Community Services Limited;
Brendan Grylls, MLA, Member for Merredin;
Vicki Pearce, WA State Manager, Bendigo Bank Limited
This occasion was celebrated by an afternoon tea that was attended by the local community.
The Branch opened its doors for business the following day, Tuesday the 18 March 2008.
